Voice Control is becoming another way to operate a Smart Shower System. In actual products, however, “supports voice control” does not describe one fixed set of functions.
Some systems allow users to start the shower or set the temperature by voice. Others can also activate saved presets. Flow, individual outlets and more detailed settings may still require a digital controller or App.
For a voice-controlled shower faucet, the more useful question is therefore not whether Voice Control is available.
It is:
Which actual shower operations can voice control replace?
Temperature and On/Off Are More Direct Voice-Control Functions
In commercially available smart shower systems, shower activation and temperature setting are two functions where voice control can provide clear practical value.
Official information for KOHLER DTV+ with KOHLER Konnect shows that Voice Control can start or stop the shower, set or check water temperature, and activate saved Shower Presets.
These functions have one thing in common: the target of the command is clear.
Instead of opening a control interface and adjusting settings step by step, users can give a target temperature or activate a saved shower setting directly.
For a voice control bath faucet, this creates a clearer practical benefit than simply adding “Voice Control” to the feature list.
Flow and Outlet Control Need to Be Confirmed Separately
As a Smart Shower System becomes more complex, Temperature is no longer the only parameter that needs control.
A system with multiple overhead showers, hand showers, Body Sprays or other outlets may also involve:
- Flow;
- Outlet Selection;
- Temperature Zones;
- Presets.
Support for Voice Control does not automatically mean that all of these functions can be controlled by voice.
For example, official information for KOHLER Anthem Digital Control shows that its digital interface can manage Temperature, Flow and up to six Shower Outlets. Users can also save Presets.
The Anthem+ system extends this further with additional outlets and different temperature and flow zones.
This shows that a Smart Shower has two separate questions:
What can the shower system control?

Which of those functions can Voice Control operate?
A system may offer advanced water control while allowing voice access to only part of it.
Presets May Be More Useful Than More Individual Voice Commands
If a Smart Shower has several Outlets, Temperature settings and Flow levels, asking users to adjust every parameter through separate voice commands may not be simpler than using a physical controller.
Presets offer another approach.
Users can save a preferred Shower Setting first and then recall the complete setup with one command.
KOHLER DTV+ voice commands support the activation of saved Shower Presets.
This suggests that Voice Control does not need to manage every small parameter individually.
For a complex shower system, using voice to recall a saved setup may be more practical than adding more separate voice commands.
Other Control Methods Still Matter When Voice Control Is Available
Voice is only one control entry point in a Smart Shower System.
KOHLER lists several control methods for DTV+, including the DTV+ Interface, Voice Control and the KOHLER Konnect App.
The App can also provide Outlet Selection, Temperature Adjustment and On/Off Control.
This raises another important question when comparing a voice-controlled bath faucet:
If Voice Control is unavailable, which functions can users still operate through a physical controller or another method?
Network and power requirements also need separate attention.
For DTV+, Voice Control depends on the relevant module, App, Voice Assistant and network connection.
This does not mean every Voice Control Shower Faucet uses the same system architecture. It does show that “Voice Control” often depends on additional system conditions behind the visible faucet or controller.
A product description that only says “Voice Control” does not explain the complete operating system.
Control Logic Matters More Than the Number of Smart Features
Looking at current smart shower systems, the value of Voice Control does not depend on how many commands the system can recognize.
More useful questions include:
Which frequent operations can users complete directly by voice? Can Presets simplify complex settings? How are Flow and Outlet functions controlled? Is there still a clear operating method when Voice Control is unavailable?
This provides a more practical basis for evaluating a Smart Shower System than simply counting Smart Features.
For a voice control shower faucet, voice is only a new interaction method.
The overall user experience still depends on how actual shower functions such as Temperature, Flow, Outlet and Preset are organized and controlled.
