Entering a genuinely different category may introduce a new functional logic, new components, different usage issues and additional service requirements.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"870\" data-end=\"964\">That is why the decision should not be based only on whether a product represents a new trend.<\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"5znfle\" data-start=\"966\" data-end=\"1022\">A Smart Kitchen Faucet Is More Than a Feature Upgrade<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1024\" data-end=\"1068\">Take the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yoroow.com\/ru\/\">Smart Kitchen Faucet<\/a> as an example.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1070\" data-end=\"1283\">If the existing kitchen faucet range mainly relies on mechanical structures for hot and cold water control, pull-out operation and spray-mode switching, adding smart functions changes more than the selling points.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1285\" data-end=\"1516\">A kitchen faucet with voice control may introduce a different operating method and additional electronic components. It can also require new installation instructions, clearer product explanations and different after-sales support.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1518\" data-end=\"1640\">The first question, therefore, is whether demand for smart kitchen taps is strong enough to justify this added complexity.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1642\" data-end=\"1861\">If the intended need can already be solved by adding a small feature to an existing mechanical faucet, there may be little reason to create an entirely new product category simply because it can be described as &#8220;Smart.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"1kdrdpb\" data-start=\"1863\" data-end=\"1925\">A New Category Should Expand What the Existing Range Can Do<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1927\" data-end=\"1988\">One practical question when evaluating category expansion is:<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1990\" data-end=\"2087\"><strong data-start=\"1990\" data-end=\"2087\">What can the product range solve after entering this category that it could not solve before?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2089\" data-end=\"2299\">If a Smart Kitchen Faucet introduces an operating method that the existing range cannot provide, or opens up usage scenarios that conventional kitchen faucets cannot cover, it brings a genuinely new capability.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2301\" data-end=\"2552\">But if the new category serves the same application, uses the same installation conditions and addresses the same core need through a more complicated system, the main result may be increased management complexity rather than stronger portfolio value.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2554\" data-end=\"2678\">A new category should create a new reason to choose the product, not simply another SKU that requires long-term maintenance.<\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"1lai4td\" data-start=\"2680\" data-end=\"2733\">Consider What Must Be Supported Over the Long Term<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2735\" data-end=\"2799\">Adding a new category does not end when the product is launched.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2801\" data-end=\"3067\">Product information needs ongoing maintenance. Components and different configurations need to be managed.
