adding more similar SKUs around the original product.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"15147\" data-end=\"15178\">The real challenge is deciding:<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"15180\" data-end=\"15268\"><strong data-start=\"15180\" data-end=\"15268\">Which design elements must remain consistent, and which parts are allowed to change?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"15270\" data-end=\"15426\">If this boundary is not defined early, the larger the range becomes, the easier it is for the individual models to lose their relationship with one another.<\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"117mj4h\" data-start=\"15428\" data-end=\"15500\">Start by Identifying the Core Design Elements That Should Not Be Lost<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"15502\" data-end=\"15543\">Take a Square Basin Faucet as an example.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"15545\" data-end=\"15612\">Its identity may not come from the fact that it is simply &#8220;square.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"15614\" data-end=\"15750\">The body profile, handle thickness, spout line, edge treatment and proportions between major components may all form part of the design.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"15752\" data-end=\"15895\">When developing a product family from a basic square basin faucet, the first step should therefore not be deciding how many more models to add.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"15897\" data-end=\"15990\">It should be identifying which elements make the product recognizably this particular design.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"15992\" data-end=\"16039\">Those elements should remain relatively stable.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"16041\" data-end=\"16184\">Only after that should the variable elements be defined, such as height, spout reach, installation format, functional configuration and finish.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"16186\" data-end=\"16405\">If the only shared characteristic is the broad idea of a square shape, while all proportions, lines and details change, the new products may still fail to form a clear family even if they use the same naming convention.<\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"nvslnu\" data-start=\"16407\" data-end=\"16469\">Product-Family Variations Should Come From Real Usage Needs<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"16471\" data-end=\"16591\">If the same design needs to work with different types of basins, for example, offering different heights can make sense.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"16593\" data-end=\"16660\">But increasing the height does not mean simply stretching the body.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"16662\" data-end=\"16758\">The outlet position, handle proportions and overall visual balance may also need to be reviewed.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"16760\" data-end=\"16879\">Otherwise, the new version may use similar components without actually looking as though it belongs to the same family.<\/p>\n<p into different installation or functional versions.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"17006\" data-end=\"17114\">The internal structure can change where necessary, but the external design language should remain connected.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"17116\" data-end=\"17209\">This is what separates a genuine product family from a collection of merely similar products.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"17211\" data-end=\"17280\">Every SKU in a product family should be able to answer two questions:<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"17282\" data-end=\"17339\"><strong data-start=\"17282\" data-end=\"17339\">Why does it look as though it belongs to this family?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"17341\" data-end=\"17401\"><strong data-start=\"17341\" data-end=\"17401\">Why does this particular model need to exist 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"1ymyner\" data-start=\"17403\" data-end=\"17461\">Consider Future SKUs While Developing the First Product<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"17463\" data-end=\"17647\">If a core design is already expected to expand into a family, it is useful to consider from the first development stage which structures and interfaces could become shared foundations.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"17649\" data-end=\"17776\">This can make future changes in dimensions, configurations or finishes easier without redefining the entire product every time.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"17778\" data-end=\"17832\">But shared components should not become a restriction.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"17834\" data-end=\"18049\">If a new model sacrifices installation compatibility or user experience simply to reuse an existing part, the structure should be allowed to change while the truly important design characteristics remain consistent.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"18051\" data-end=\"18118\">A good Faucet Family should make two things clear at the same time:<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"18120\" data-end=\"18208\">the products come from the same core design, and each model has a clear reason to exist.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"18210\" data-end=\"18277\">Developing a family from one design is therefore not about copying.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"18279\" data-end=\"18316\">It is about establishing clear rules:<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"18318\" data-end=\"18462\"><strong data-start=\"18318\" data-end=\"18462\">keep design recognition stable while allowing size, installation and
